Bernard CONTE is an economist and a specialist in development economics.

He is currently a senior lecturer at the University Montesquieu Bordeaux IV.

He is also involved in two research centers: the Centre d'Etude d'Afrique Noire (CEAN) and the Centre d'Economie du developpement (CED).

His main research interests and publications focus on globalization, North-South relations (including EU-ACP), regional integration, structural adjustment, new information and communication technologies (ICTs).

He also works as a consultant (EU, french Ministeries, Regional council, private firms)
